Country Thunder Alberta in Calgary is cancelled — just two days before it was set to kick off. The June 26–28 festival was headlined by The Red Clay Strays, Kane Brown, and Lainey Wilson, with Cameron Whitcomb, Tyler Hubbard, Ian Munsick, Mark Chesnutt, Noeline Hofmann, and Elizabeth Nichols also on the bill. On June 24, organizers announced "the difficult decision to cancel Country Thunder Alberta 2026," blaming "active construction, loss of critical infrastructure and a restrictive noise bylaw" that made safe execution impossible. The day before, on June 23, they were still posting stage photos and trucks rolling in.
