47 was the age Leslie Jones joined "Saturday Night Live" โ and she's still unpacking what that gig cost her.
Leslie Jones says "SNL" kept writing her as the "girl that was angry and beating up people"
Leslie Jones told "The Sam Sanders Show" that it was "frustrating" watching "Saturday Night Live" writers keep her locked in the same lane: angry, aggressive, and always in a fight. She described sketches where she was "beating up people" or "in love with a white boy," and said she didn't push back at first because she wanted to be on the show. But the pattern wore on her. She started asking herself, "OK, who am I beating up this week," before finally telling the writers directly: "Stop writing me like that."
Gobble's Take: When the punchline is always the same person, that's not a character โ it's a corner.

"The Pitt" rolls into Emmy season with a Season 2 performance already turning heads
"The Pitt" won three Emmy Awards in its first season, including Outstanding Drama Series, and is already a frontrunner for more after Season 2. Collider singles out Brittany Allen's portrayal of patient Roxie Hamler as the season's standout, noting that after HBO did not submit Allen for Emmy consideration, she launched her own FYC campaign. The season also took Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch through suicidal ideation before closing on a note of hope.
Gobble's Take: Three Emmys in and they're still finding new performances to argue about. That's a healthy show.
