Detroit's top-seeded Pistons just humiliated the fourth-seeded Cavaliers 115-94 on Friday, and now they're doing it again tonight — except this time, one of these teams goes home for good.
Detroit and Cleveland Are Playing Basketball's Version of Russian Roulette — Tonight
Six brutal games. One Friday blowout. Now a Game 7 in Detroit, Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET, where the Eastern Conference Semifinals either crown a survivor or end a season with no second chances.
The Pistons — the East's top seed at 60-22 — forced this by torching Cleveland 115-94 in Game 6 on Friday. Cade Cunningham led Detroit with 21 points. James Harden paced Cleveland with 23 in a losing effort that now forces the fourth-seeded Cavaliers (52-30) into do-or-die territory on the road. Cunningham has been ascending all series, averaging 28.8 points over the last 10 games. Donovan Mitchell is carrying Cleveland's end at 27.9 points per game, but the Cavaliers went 5-5 over their last 10, allowing 108.5 points per game — a number Detroit will absolutely try to eclipse again tonight.
The Pistons are favored by 4.5, and their paint-bruising identity gives them the edge at home. Detroit leads the East in points in the paint at 57.9 per game. Cleveland ranks fifth in the Eastern Conference in assists at 28.3 per game, with Harden averaging 8.0 dimes. One team wants to pound it inside. The other wants to move it until someone cracks. Tonight we find out which philosophy survives.
One team's season ends at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET, and there's nothing left to manage or massage about that.
Gobble's Take: Game 7 is the only format in sports where both teams are equally terrified — and that's exactly why it's the only thing worth watching tonight.

Jalen Duren and Detroit's Paint Dominance Set the Stage for Game 7
The Detroit Pistons lead the Eastern Conference with 57.9 points in the paint per game, with Jalen Duren averaging 14.6 of those. Duren is also averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds over the last 10 games, making him the central figure in Detroit's interior attack.
The Pistons (60-22) host the Cavaliers (52-30) with the series tied 3-3. Detroit scores 117.8 points per game — 2.4 more than Cleveland's 115.4 allowed. The Cavaliers average 119.5 points per game, while Detroit holds opponents to 109.6.
For Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell leads the way at 27.9 points per game with 4.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists. Whether the Cavaliers can contain Duren's interior presence in Game 7 remains the key question.
Gobble's Take: Duren is averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, and Detroit leads the East in paint scoring. The interior battle will likely decide Game 7.

Rui Hachimura Says He Loves the Lakers Heading Into Free Agency
After the Lakers' season ended in a Game 4 loss to the Thunder, Rui Hachimura was asked about his impending free agency. He said he hadn't thought about it yet, but was candid about his feelings toward the organization. "I love this team," Hachimura said. "I love this organization since I got here. This is my fourth season here. Start from Rob [Pelinka], everybody. The owners, Jeanie [Buss] and now new owner Mark [Walter]. I just like them. I just like how they operate everything." On the negotiating side, he was equally direct: "I put everything on my agents."
Reports around the league suggest the expectation is that Hachimura returns to Los Angeles. At around $14–15 million annually, other teams could technically compete for his services using the mid-level exception, though realistically only the Lakers, Nets, and Bulls could afford him.
Gobble's Take: He said he loves the organization, hasn't thought about free agency, and is leaving the negotiating to his agents — which is about as much as the source tells us.
