No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 playoff deficit — and tonight, the Oklahoma City Thunder get their chance to make that a permanent fact.
Thunder One Win From Closing a One-Sided Series
The Oklahoma City Thunder moved to the brink of another Western Conference Finals appearance with a 131-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, taking a 3-0 series lead. The Lakers now face the daunting task of needing to become the first team in NBA history to overturn a 3-0 deficit.
The Lakers held halftime leads in each of the last two games but were outscored by 25 in the second half of Game 3. The trio of Ajay Mitchell, Cason Wallace, and Isaiah Joe combined for 45 second-half points, nearly matching the entire Lakers roster's 49. Mitchell led with 24 points and 10 assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 23 points and 9 assists. His form in the play-offs has been down on his regular season, when he averaged 31.1 points per game. LeBron James, 41, finished with 19 points playing without the injured Luka Dončić.
Game 4 is Monday night. The Thunder are favored by 10.5 points.
Gobble's Take: OKC has outscored the Lakers by 25 in the second half of Game 3 alone — Los Angeles has yet to find an answer for 48 full minutes.

Spurs Lead Timberwolves 2-1 Heading Into Game 4 Today
Victor Wembanyama's fourth-quarter takeover helped the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-108 in Game 3, giving San Antonio a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 is scheduled for today, May 10th, 2026, at 6:30 PM CT on Peacock/NBC.
San Antonio's strategy of playing fast on offense, pressuring Minnesota's ball-handlers with full-court pressure and doubles, and funneling everything to Wembanyama in the paint has worked so far. Minnesota out-rebounded San Antonio 15-8 on the offensive glass and took 14 more shots in Game 3, but still lost. Donte DiVincenzo is out for the Wolves with an Achilles injury, and no injuries are reported for the Spurs.
San Antonio's guard De'Aaron Fox has been hot and cold in this series, shooting poorly in Games One and Three but posting a solid stat line in Game Two.
Gobble's Take: Minnesota keeps generating extra possessions but still loses. How Chris Finch adjusts his Wembanyama game plan in Game 4 is the key thing to watch.

Pistons Lead Series 2-1 Ahead of Cleveland Return After Mitchell's 35-Point Win
The Detroit Pistons entered Cleveland leading the series 2-1. Donovan Mitchell posted 35 points to lead the Cavaliers to a 116-109 win, cutting Detroit's series lead.
Cleveland built a 16-point halftime lead and held on despite a Detroit surge. Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with a 27-point triple-double — 10 rebounds and 10 assists — but Mitchell's late free throws secured the win for the fourth-seeded Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers are 2-5 in games decided by fewer than 4 points this season.
Gobble's Take: Mitchell's 35 points kept Cleveland alive, but Detroit still leads the series 2-1.
