NASA has selected Relativity Space for a Mars mission, and that turns the Mars launch market into something much less lopsided. Relativity Space was previously struggling to reach orbit, but now itβs being positioned as a direct competitor to SpaceX in the Mars race. A NASA contract also gives it credibility and funding momentum, which is the kind of plot twist space companies dream about and rivals notice immediately.
Gobble's Take: The Mars race just got less lonely, and SpaceX can no longer treat it like a one-company parade.
