Elle Woods gets a new origin story
Prime Video’s new series Elle premieres July 1, with Lexi Minetree taking on the title role in her high school years. The show is meant to expand the pre-Ivy League backstory of Elle Woods, the California University of Los Angeles fashion merchandising major with a 4.0 from the 2001 film Legally Blonde. The series has already been renewed for season two, and the showrunners say they stayed loyal to the movie’s tone and plot while building in enough changes for multiple seasons.
