40,000 fans watched Kirk Hammett take an unplanned dive into the Dublin crowd โ€” then post the fall himself with the caption "Slip & Destroy."

Kirk Hammett's "Slip & Destroy" moment goes viral

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett lost his footing at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday, June 19, tumbling off the stage edge just as the band launched into "Seek & Destroy" in front of approximately 40,000 fans. He missed only a few notes, got hauled back up, and kept playing. Hours later, Hammett confirmed he was uninjured by posting fan-shot video on Instagram Stories โ€” captioned, naturally, "Slip & Destroy." The clip tore across YouTube and X, and fans lined up to praise him for laughing it off.
