Kimora Lee Simmons' husband filed for divorce from federal prison โ after admitting he stole $4.5 billion, lied about his marital status, and personally pocketed $60 million.
Her Husband Helped Steal $4.5 Billion. He Just Filed for Divorce From His Cell.
Tim Leissner, former Goldman Sachs banker and husband to model and entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons, is apparently a multi-tasker. Currently serving a two-year federal prison sentence, he has officially filed for divorce from Simmons, citing โ with breathtaking audacity โ "irreconcilable differences." Leissner signed the divorce papers on February 4, two days before surrendering to a federal correctional facility in Pennsylvania. The court documents were filed April 20.
Leissner pleaded guilty in 2018 to stealing millions from the Malaysian government in connection with the 1MDB scandal, in which U.S. authorities estimate $4.5 billion was stolen from a state-owned investment fund. He expressed remorse during sentencing, apologizing to the people of Malaysia. He is scheduled for release on September 29, 2027. The couple married in March 2014 and had been together 12 years. Simmons alluded to the split in a December interview, noting she had changed "husbands" among other life transitions.
Leissner's filing requests joint custody of their 11-year-old son Wolfe, as well as spousal support from the Baby Phat founder. He also asked the court to terminate Simmons' ability to receive alimony. Filing for divorce from federal prison โ while simultaneously requesting money from the wife you're leaving โ is genuinely an all-time move.
Gobble's Take: He helped steal billions, is serving federal time, and filed for divorce asking for spousal support โ Kimora Lee Simmons deserves a medal just for the audacity she's had to endure.

You Know Her From The Lost Boys. She's Quietly Worth More Than Oprah, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna Combined.
While you were rewatching Jami Gertz outrun tornadoes in Twister, she was quietly assembling a fortune that makes Taylor Swift's empire look like a side hustle. The actress โ best known for 80s classics like The Lost Boys and Sixteen Candles โ reportedly sits on a net worth of around $8 billion, placing her among the wealthiest entertainers on the planet.
The source of that wealth is her husband, private equity billionaire Tony Ressler, co-founder of Apollo Global Management and Ares Management, two firms that today manage hundreds of billions in assets. But here's the twist that rewrites the whole narrative: when they met, Gertz was the one with money. "I made more money โ way more money โ than Tony when I met him," she has said. "I paid for our first house. I paid for our first vacation." Together, they bought the NBA's Atlanta Hawks in 2015 for an estimated $720 million, and Gertz is no silent co-owner โ she's regularly the face of the franchise at the NBA draft lottery.
The girl from Reality Bites now owns a professional basketball team and out-earns Oprah. Let that sink in.
Gobble's Take: Jami Gertz walked into a relationship as the breadwinner and walked out with an NBA franchise โ maybe she's the one who needs a biopic.

Patrick Swayze, Dennis Quaid, and Pierce Brosnan Were Almost in the Rom-Com That Made Sandra Bullock a Star
The original script for While You Were Sleeping was called "Coma Guy" โ and not because of the plot. Screenwriter Frederic Lebow explained that he and co-writer Dan Sullivan "were known in LA as the 'Coma Guys'" for a year or two while shopping the script. The original version had a man pretending to be engaged to a woman in a coma. When Meg Ryan's team called it "predatory," they suggested flipping the genders. It worked. Meg Ryan still passed. Then Demi Moore couldn't agree on a contract. Then Julia Roberts said no. Sandra Bullock reached out directly to the studio after reading the script on the set of Speed, saying it was exactly the kind of project she wanted to do.
The male leads almost looked very different too. Lebow revealed that Patrick Swayze was considered for Bill Pullman's role as Jack, and that Dennis Quaid was in mind when writing the part. For the comatose Peter, the writers had Pierce Brosnan in mind. The film ultimately grossed over $182 million worldwide.
Three A-listers' rejections and two alternate casting paths essentially built one of the most beloved rom-coms ever made.
Gobble's Take: Every actress who passed on this movie has had to watch Sandra Bullock become "America's Sweetheart" for 30 years โ that's its own kind of coma.
