1,251 cyclospora cases have been reported in Michigan, making it the largest outbreak in the state’s history.
Michigan cyclospora outbreak keeps climbing
Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services says the state’s cyclospora outbreak has reached 1,251 cases, concentrated in Southeast Michigan, including Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Macomb counties. Officials say the source has not been identified and that MDHHS is still working with local health departments and partners on the investigation. Other states are also reporting cyclospora activity, including Ohio, New York, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, Colorado, and Indiana, but Michigan’s count is the giant in the room.
