Hantavirus’s cruise-ship knot keeps tightening
The risk to the general public remains exceptionally low, even as the situation continues to move forward for the high-risk cruise passengers. Of the people brought to the U.S., some are in the Nebraska quarantine center, one person is in the Nebraska biocontainment unit after testing positive for hantavirus without symptoms, and two passengers went to the Atlanta biocontainment unit; one has mild symptoms and the other has no symptoms. The post also says none of the people in Nebraska have symptoms, and that all of the systems involved are activated.
Gobble's Take: A serious situation, but the general-public risk is still described as exceptionally low.
