23 points was enough to make Brayden Burries the game’s top scorer — and it still wasn’t enough to beat his old Arizona teammate.

Former Wildcats, now Summer League enemies

Brayden Burries and Koa Peat met as competitors for the first time in NBA Summer League, and the scoreboard handed out the rude little twist: Peat’s Phoenix Suns held off the Milwaukee Bucks 95-88 in Las Vegas. Burries led all scorers with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while Peat finished second for Phoenix with 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Both were already in double figures at halftime, with Burries at 12 and Peat at 11, so this one had early fireworks and no shortage of familiar faces trying to one-up each other.

Phoenix is now 2-1 in Summer League, while Milwaukee is 0-3. Burries was the No. 10 pick by the Bucks, and Peat went No. 30 to the Suns, so yes, the handshake line probably had some extra spice.

Gobbles Gobble's Take: Arizona's Final Four reunion turned into a clean little basketball grudge match, and the Suns were the ones still smiling at the end.
