The New York Knicks are NBA champions for the first time in 53 years, and they did it with a 94-90 win over the San Antonio Spurs in San Antonio. Jalen Brunson carried the night with 45 points and took home Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP, including 29 points in the second half alone. No other Knick scored more than seven points in the second half, and Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby were both wrestling foul trouble most of the night. Still, the Knicks' three Villanova alums β Towns, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart β combined to score 72 of the team's 94 points.
